Our Last (Real) Week Together

Even though we are nearing the end of the school year and my classroom is stacked high with boxes, I've been working hard to keep the learning momentum going in the room.

This weekend I did a little crafting and made some fun Math games to keep us engaged.
Our morning routine stayed pretty much the same this week as we practiced our spelling skills using Word Journeys. If you haven't heard of Word Journeys it is a way to differentiate your spelling instruction for students needs. My students have made huge growth in their spelling this year and later this summer I'll post some data to prove it!
I then introduced the kids to Reader's Theater and set them up in their groups to start working on their presentations. They have been so excited about it!

Math games have been keeping us up and moving with the wonderful Greater Than Less Than Scoot from Brandy Owens Shoemaker and the 3D Shapes Scoot from Teacher's Breathing Space.

We also did some Whole Brain Teaching review with our 3D Shape attributes.

Outside of the classroom, our state has been covered in rain! Fingers crossed that we have Field Day tomorrow and I'll have some fun pictures to post!
